Role Overview the client, Inc. is seeking an Automation Controls Technician for a critical, plant-floor technical role based at our Jacksonville, AR manufacturing facility. Unlike engineering-tier roles, this position focuses heavily on direct, tactical field maintenance, fabrication, and hardware intervention.
The ideal candidate brings strong practical field experience to keep high-volume automated production line equipment running efficiently with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting & Repairs Swiftly diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures across all automated production line equipment. Minimize plant downtime through rapid, efficient tactical intervention. PLC Programming & Configuration Hook into a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) on the floor. Modify code, troubleshoot faults, and manage system setup configurations. Custom System Fabrication Build and wire custom industrial control panels from scratch. Construct localized hardware automation arrays based on schematic layouts Electrical Infrastructure Safely work on advanced circuitry and high-voltage industrial delivery systems (up to 480 VAC).Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AC/DC electric motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Blueprint & Schematic Reading Interpret complex electrical schematics and logic gate designs. Utilize technical hardware manuals to isolate and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Position Requirements Technical Skill set Industrial Electronics:
Strong functional mastery of industrial electronics and electrical hardware.
Control Systems: Proficiency with ladder logic and active PLC troubleshooting workflows. Mechanical Aptitude: Hands-on experience repairing mechanical plant hardware.
Education & Experience Experience: 3+ years of hands-on plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Education: Associate degree in Industrial Electronics, equivalent vocational/military certifications, or equivalent practical field experience. (A formal Engineering Technology degree is a plus, but practical experience is prioritized).
