The position perfectly blends hands-on 3D component modeling with direct plant-floor material collaboration to bring residential ventilation designs successfully from initial concept to high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities: New Product Development (NPD)Formulate, model, and refine residential passive and active ventilation product lines. Innovate and expand on existing product categories, including ridge vents, roof jacks, and powered turbine ventilators. Sheet Metal & Tooling Design Create precise production prints and design custom parameters for stamped aluminum and steel materials. Injection Molding Optimization Design plastic-molded parts, internal components, and exterior product cosmetics. Collaborate directly with process engineers and the plant floor to troubleshoot tooling draft angles, material shrinkages, and part gating. Feasibility & Airflow Testing Build mechanical and functional prototypes for physical evaluation. Simulate and physically measure airflow dynamics, weather-proofing effectiveness, and overall structural integrity. Regulatory Submissions Document detailed technical specifications to satisfy regional and national building codes.
